PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Brent, Alabama – Renewable Natural Gas Development

Cetna Energy has partnered with two long‑standing Alabama companies—Burkes Mechanical and Cahaba Timber—to form BCS Energy, LLC, an Alabama‑based joint venture dedicated to building a wood‑residue‑based renewable natural gas (RNG) business across the state and the broader Southeast. With one of the nation’s largest concentrations of privately managed commercial timber, the region offers an exceptional opportunity to convert mill residues into clean, reliable energy.

Our initial commercial single‑module test plant is located in Brent, Alabama, strategically positioned near both our primary feedstock supplier and our primary fabrication shop. This facility is capable of producing a full suite of renewable products, including:

  • Renewable natural gas (RNG)

  • Green Methanol

  • Green Hydrogen

  • Sustainable aviation fuel

  • Renewable Diesel and Gasoline

  • Green Ethanol

The Brent plant also serves as our long‑term test bed for new products, operating conditions, and workforce training. Development of a proprietary renewable gasoline catalyst is underway and will be evaluated at this site.

RNG Phase II
The next step in our build‑out adds three additional standard modules to the existing Brent facility, increasing total capacity to 1 billion cubic feet (BCF) of RNG per year. This expansion remains on the same site and is expected to achieve full‑scale commercial hydrogen production by Q4 2027.

Renewable Natural Gas Plant Phase II

RNG Phase III
Following Phase II, we will construct five additional standard RNG plants at the Brent location. Each plant consists of four modules, collectively adding 5 BCF of annual RNG production capacity. The drawing shows up to nine additional plants based on feedstock availability.
